چکیده

ABSTRACT One of the major problems of academic research is the unavailability of appropriate tools where researchers can develop and evaluate their ideas. Research groups tend to spend a significant amount of time in developing tools which results in an abundance of incomplete tools which do not provide sufficient features for other groups to use. Often these tools are never made public which makes the reproducibility of the results difficult and time consuming.

Domain-Specific Language for HW/SW Co-design for FPGAs

This article describes FSMLanguage, a domain-specific language for HW/SW co-design targeting platform FPGAs. Modern platform FPGAs provide a wealth of configurable logic in addition to embedded processors, distributed RAM blocks, and DSP slices in order to help facilitate building HW/SW codesigned systems. A technical challenge in building such systems is that the practice of designing software...

Hadoop Performance Tuning - A Pragmatic & Iterative Approach

Hadoop represents a Java-based distributed computing framework that is designed to support applications that are implemented via the MapReduce programming model. In general, workload dependent Hadoop performance optimization efforts have to focus on 3 major categories. Namely the systems HW, the systems SW, and the configuration and tuning/optimization of the Hadoop infrastructure components. F...

A Feature-based Approach to Embedded System Hardware and Software Co-design

Correspnding author, Email: [email protected] ABSTRACT An embedded system is a hybrid of hardware and softwarethat combines software flexibility and hardware real-time performance. The co-design of hardware and software is the most critical but difficult issue in embedded system design. In this paper, we propose a novel feature-based approach to the codesign of hardware and software in embedded ...

On the Co-simulation of SystemC with QEMU and OVP Virtual Platforms

Virtual prototyping allows designers to set up an electronic system level software simulator of a full HW/SW platform to carry out SW development and HW design almost in parallel. To achieve the goal virtual prototyping tools allow the co-simulation between an efficient instruction set simulator, mainly based on dynamic binary translation of the target code, and simulation kernels for HW models...
